Ready for your first SPS? These small polyp stony corals are among the most forgiving: Montipora caps and setosa, Stylophora, Pocillopora, Anacropora and the classic Green Slimer Acropora. They tolerate a wider range of conditions than most SPS and grow quickly once settled.
Keep alkalinity, calcium and magnesium stable, give them strong light and flow, and they'll reward you with fast growth. When you're ready for more, see intermediate SPS or all SPS corals.
