what's going on reefers Blaine here in today's video we are back in the farm facility and we are going to continue on our Coral Spotlight Series this is a group of corals you guys have been asking about frequently in the comments and so today we're going to be talking about the overarching group of corals mushroom corals there is a wide variety here at TSA that we're actively aquacultured whether it be discos Somas Roda eclectus the list goes on and on but today we're going to walk around the farm talk about some of the Care guidelines keeping mushroom corals happy we're going to Showcase some of our favorites and it's going to be a lot of fun let's dive [Music] in mushroom corals can be categorized into the soft Coral group mainly due to the fact they are lacking a skeletal structure these are also corals that are well known for beginners because they can be so easy to keep but even in Advanced Aquarius are seeking out some of the highly sought-after varieties and strains of these mushrooms whether it be the wide varieties that are available the really cool colors they have or even the bouncing varieties that are showing up on the market space these bouncing varieties can go for some really high dollars if you guys haven't seen before the OG bounce one of the original bounce mushrooms that has hit the market is well known in the Hobby and fetches quite the large price tag when it comes to parameters for these corals they like a wide range and they can deal with with a wide range and why they're so good for beginners in the first place I will say though from the start these are corals that tend to like higher levels of nutrients phosphates those kind of things so they can soak them up and really enjoy themselves these are corals that really like dirtier water of course they can do well in cleaner water but you're going to see them really display some really nice colors and grow quickly in the dirtier systems for lighting these mushroom corals we're going to look at a kind of lower range of par we're looking at anywhere from 50 to 100 50 par these are obviously going to be the same thing with most corals you can kind of work them up into higher intensities but more than likely mushroom corals are really good for some of those lower light areas if you guys are looking to fill in space that's a little bit more shaded looking to add in some colors mushroom corals are going to be some perfect corals to be able to fill up and color up those spaces speaking of those shaded areas we're going to be talking about getting them onto the sandbed so they're definitely going to be lower in your system but of course there's different mushrooms and mrooms that have been seen in other tanks that are working their way up in the scape as well as for the flow for these mushroom corals it's going to be important that we give them indirect flow so that there's no DET tritis buildup but these are corals that are going to be wanting to be in lower flow areas so it is essential that you're able to get them into some lower flow sections of the reef also there's a lot of situations where people will utilize acrylic boxes things like that to be able to kind of separate them off from the main reef tank put them down in your Su space down below where you can put out some rubble and they can kind of work their way around moving around dropping off babies but in a much more controlled flow section of the reef tank a friendly reminder too for all Reef Keepers at home these mushroom corals are very fast growers in nature not all of them but most of them though so they can have the ability to take over a section of the scape so when you're getting ready to place one into your tank be sure to remind yourself of that and look around check out all the different corals around it make sure that there's not going to be some crazy chemical Coral Warfare but it's important to recognize that these corals can grow pretty quick and they can take over a space or an area pretty fast when it comes to feeding these corals these are corals that are going to Showcase some of the best displays of feeding actions I really enjoy coming into the farm whenever they kill the flow and they start feeding all of these big Roda mushrooms it's quite the sight to see as they kind of belly up and kind of engulf all of the food we utilize what we would say is something like a paste here in the farm facility we mix up benets refoy some of our phytoplankton and make what is like a sludge and we kill the flow in the tank we drop it over the mouth of the mushroom and you can see them pretty much engulf it I really will say it is essential to give your mushroom corals some feedings and it's going to be really important you kill the flow and allow them to get that entire feeding done and over with before the flow gets kicked back on we've talked about some of the Care requirements four mushroom corals it's our favorite part of the video now let's walk around the farm and let's check out some of our TSA [Music] favorites a newer release of ours the TSA orange smash mushroom is a very cool Roda mushroom that displays Brilliant Orange that intermingles with blues and lavenders the bounces when developed on the more mature specimens shows off an amazing mixture of colors I've always been a sucker for a nice bounce mushroom and the mixture of these two colors and how quickly these grow out I really think they can be an awesome choice for anyone looking to get their first or an additional bounce mushroom into their collection or in their reef [Music] tank staying on the trend of Bounce mushrooms the next we're checking in with at the farm is the Powerball mushroom these are some really cool Roda that have garnered some hype that is well worthy also known as Hallelujah bounces up north in Canada the bounces on these mushrooms in particular create some of the coolest marbling of colors I have ever seen on a bounce mushroom the color contrast too of the dark bluish green skirt with the amazing orange mixed in with the greens and blues makes this a mushroom anyone should try and add into their collection Powerball mushrooms have been highly sought after in the mushroom Community for a long time with these now released on our site and won't take long for them to sell [Music] out another bounce mushroom that is on this list of ours and off the website whenever we have babies in stock rapidly is the Marty Gro bounce mushroom this is another nice roaustin of greens purples pinks and much more my favorite part about these are the skirt that shows off those brilliant colors as these mushrooms hang out and develop in your system they'll start to show more bubbles but like fine wine these just get better over [Music] time a really unique disc aoma in our farm that is also a newer release as you can see a lot of new releases here on this video is the TSA white widows now in the juvenile stage they are still really nice mushrooms but when fully grown out you can see that these things are out of this world the crazy orange dots throughout the brilliant baby blue and dark burgundy is an unmatched combo these are fairly quick rowers like most other discosoma definitely a nice mushroom if you've been looking to pick up a new or a different style disco mushroom for your tank [Music] one of the last mushroom corals we're going to visit on our rounds here in the farm today is the Godzilla Yuma mushroom this is one we have a limited quantity on but me making this video hopefully we can convince Kevin we need to get some more of these onto the website who knows maybe by the time this video is live they're up there so keep your eye out as for the mushroom itself though the name speaks for itself and these yumos can get huge in size and the awesome green and orange combination is really to die for I'm lucky to have some of these in my own reef tank at home and the mama has started to begin leaving some babies behind getting me really excited overall though the Godzilla Yuma mushroom is a classic here in the Hobby and it's awesome to see that we're farming them here at [Music] TSA whether it be for beginners or experts Alik mushroom corals are a great group of corals for anyone to add into their reef tanks at home also whether it be the amazing colors that develop over time in jawbreakers the really cool sha carpet appearance of hairy mushrooms there is a wide variety of mushrooms available in the Hobby and a wide variety that we are aquacultured here at TSA if you saw any in the video today that you want to snag up yourself be sure to head over to the website now I know those power balls and Godzillas will go quick so be sure to head over to the website thank you guys so much for tuning in on this video if you guys have had fun be sure to like subscribe and hit the Bell notification so you don't miss out on any future uploads [Music]
