The Skimmer+ runs VarioS skimmer pumps. Choose the variant that matches your pump:
- 2S: VarioS-2S, the pump on the Regal 150SSS and Regal 150INT
- 4S: VarioS-4S, the pump on the Regal 200SSS and Regal 200INT
- 6S: VarioS-6S
Connect the included float switch to shut the skimmer off before the collection cup overflows.
Not to be confused with: the VarioS+ WiFi Controller, which runs VarioS return pumps (VarioS-2, 4, 6 and 8).

Which VarioS Skimmer+ variant do I need?
Match it to your skimmer pump: 2S for the VarioS-2S (used on Regal 150SSS and 150INT skimmers), 4S for the VarioS-4S (Regal 200SSS and 200INT) and 6S for the VarioS-6S. For VarioS return pumps, use the VarioS+ WiFi Controller instead.
Will the Skimmer+ alert me to pump problems?
Yes. The Reef Octopus app for iOS and Android sends push notifications to your phone or tablet when it detects a pump anomaly.
Does the Skimmer+ have a feed mode?
Yes. Dual feed mode pauses the skimmer pump for 15 or 60 minutes, and a 5-minute delay timer holds the restart after the pump is switched off.
Should I leave my protein skimmer on all the time?
Yes. In most reef tanks the skimmer runs around the clock. Pause it while you feed or dose so food and additives aren't skimmed straight out, then let it restart. On Regal skimmers the VarioS controller's 15 or 60-minute feed modes do this for you.
