ReefGate Valve Upgrade - Parts - Red Sea

The Red Sea ReefGate is a high-precision gate valve engineered specifically for reef aquariums, delivering a silent, stable downflow and effortless fine-tuning of your overflow system. Designed to maintain a constant water level in your overflow box, the ReefGate allows you to perfectly balance the water flowing down with the water being pumped back up.

Unlike standard gate valves, the ReefGate is built entirely from reef-safe plastic components, eliminating concerns about corrosion in saltwater environments. Its ergonomic handwheel provides ultra-fine control, with each full rotation adjusting the valve opening by just 1mm. That level of incremental precision makes dialing in your system simple, repeatable, and incredibly stable.

Retrofitting Options

The ReefGate comes standard on all REEFER G3 systems and is also available as a retrofit kit for REEFER G2 aquariums. It can additionally be adapted to most aquariums using standard 40mm (1¼”) or 32mm (1”) plumbing.

Upgrade Kit for REEFER 32mm / 1” Down Pipe:

• 1x 32mm PVC pipe – 112mm

• 1x 90° elbow for 32mm OD pipe

• 1x ReefGate valve 40mm (1¼”)

• 2x 32mm PVC pipe – 46mm

• 2x 40mm (1¼”) to 32mm (1”) reducers

• 2x 32mm (1”) unions
  

Upgrade Kit for REEFER 40mm / 1¼” Down Pipe:

• 1x 40mm PVC pipe – 106mm

• 1x 90° elbow for 40mm OD pipe

• 1x 40mm (1¼”) union

• 1x 40mm PVC pipe – 48.5mm

• 1x ReefGate valve 40mm (1¼”)

• 1x 40mm (1¼”) to 32mm (1”) reducer

• 1x 32mm PVC pipe – 46mm

• 1x 32mm (1”) union

Replacement Down Pipe for REEFER 170–200 G2:

• Fully assembled and ready to install

The kits also include the necessary components for connecting to Red Sea ReefMat roller filters.

Important Installation Notes

Retrofitting requires cutting and gluing your existing plumbing. Model-specific cutting instructions are not included, so careful planning and precise measurement are essential before modifying your pipes.
