The sixth generation introduces a redesigned HEI2 (Hybrid Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) optical system that pairs a new primary lens with the existing hemispherical secondary optic, pushing the beam spread from the G5's 110.5 degrees to 126.3 degrees. The practical result is a fixture that covers a recommended 36" x 30" footprint with even PAR distribution, while side-glass reflection further reduces shadowing beneath coral structure. Among all Radion models, the G6 Pro delivers the highest average output per fixture.

The Pro designation signals a diode mix calibrated for balanced, full-spectrum output — the configuration preferred by public aquariums, coral spawning facilities, and aquaculture operations. One hundred LEDs are distributed across 10 channels: Royal Blue (32), Blue (16), Violet 430nm (8), UV 395nm (4), UV 405nm (2), UV 415nm (4), Cool White (16), Warm White (8), Green (6), and Red (4). For Neptune Apex users, the optional MXM module brings the XR30 G6 Pro under Apex Fusion control alongside EcoTech and AquaIllumination equipment, eliminating the need to switch between apps.

Physically, the XR30 G6 Pro maintains the compact, low-profile form factor the Radion line is known for — 11.8" x 7" x 1.5" at 4.5 lbs — with a quiet fan and proprietary heatsink design. The G6 remains backwards compatible with the full range of RMS mounting accessories, including single-arm mounts, multi-light track systems up to 8 feet, and hanging kits.
