Meridian 45 Edge Bar Bundle - Reef Breeders

The Meridian 45 Edge Bar Bundle is the complete overhead-and-edge lighting system for a 45-inch reef. The Meridian 45 serves as the primary overhead fixture while the two Edge 45 bars mount on its front and rear tracks via Edge Articulating Mounts, delivering light from multiple angles rather than strictly from above. The 600W power supply, daisy chain cable, and all required hardware ship in the box, so nothing needs to be sourced separately before the system is operational.

The Meridian's spectral design centers on an extended violet range from 400nm through 440nm, including true 440nm indigo LEDs that are rarely found in aquarium lighting. That range is directly tied to tissue recovery, color development, and growth rates that fixtures with narrower spectra have difficulty matching. Two LED layouts are available at checkout: Original, which delivers a 20K blue look with four 440nm indigo LEDs on a dedicated channel, and Shallow Reef, which doubles the white LED count for a 14K shallow-water look and splits 3.5K warm whites onto their own channel for separate warm and cool tone control.

The two Edge 45 bars run two independent channels each and are available in three spectra: Reefer 14K (white, blue, and UV for a natural look), Royal Ice (royal blue and cool blue, tuned for fluorescence), and UV/Blue Hybrid (royal blue, near-UV, violet, and indigo, chosen to extend the violet range out to the front and rear of the tank). Both bars in the bundle ship in the same spectrum, which is selected at checkout. The Ocular Holo Matrix optics focus bar output at 45 degrees, giving enough intensity to reach into tanks thirty inches deep or more, while the Meridian ships with OHM Balance optics at 90 degrees for the wider overhead spread. OHM optics in additional spreads are available separately.

Control runs through the ReefBreeders app on 2.4GHz WiFi for remote access or Bluetooth for direct local control — one mode is selected at setup, and resetting the fixture switches between them. Each Edge bar has a manual controller built in, and the Meridian accepts an optional plug-in manual controller through the port on top of the case. The daisy chain cables are cut to a fixed length sized for the Edge bars in their mounted positions on the Meridian tracks, so the system should be planned with that in mind before drilling or installing mounts.

Side legs, back-of-tank mounts, and hanging wire kits are sold separately and are not included in this bundle. The Meridian was designed with parts availability and long-term serviceability as stated priorities, which matters for a fixture in this price class. Whether this is a first build or a replacement for an aging system, the intent is a fixture that remains supported and serviceable across multiple tank builds.
