Meridian 35 Edge Bar Bundle - Reef Breeders

The Meridian 35 Edge Bar Bundle is a complete overhead lighting system for serious reef tanks. It ships as one assembled unit: the Meridian 35 fixture, two Edge 35 bars mounted on the Meridian's front and rear tracks, articulating mounts for each bar, a daisy chain cable, and a 450W power supply. Nothing needs to be sourced separately. At full output the assembly draws 405W — the included supply is sized for exactly that — and the daisy chain cables are cut to length for the bars in their mounted positions, so installation is straightforward.

The Meridian's spectral design centers on an extended violet range from 400nm through 440nm, with a peak output at 445nm and true 440nm indigo LEDs on a dedicated control channel. Those wavelengths are tied to tissue recovery, color development, and steady growth, and they are absent from most reef fixtures. Two LED layouts are available: Original, which delivers a 20K bluer look with four indigo LEDs on their own channel, and Shallow Reef, which doubles the white LED count and splits 3.5K warm whites onto a separate channel from the 5.5K neutral whites for a shallower, more natural appearance. Every channel is independently adjustable in the ReefBreeders app.

The Edge 35 bars mount on the Meridian's front and rear tracks using the included Edge Articulating Mounts. Each bar can be angled toward the rockwork or toward the glass, directing light laterally rather than only from overhead. Each bar adds up to six inches of coverage and runs the Ocular Holo Matrix Edge OHM Focus optics at 45°, a tighter beam than the Meridian's 90° OHM Balance spread, which puts deeper-penetrating light at the edges of the tank where overhead-only fixtures fall short. Three Edge bar spectra are available: Reefer 14K (white, blue, and UV for a natural look), Royal Ice (royal blue and cool blue, no white, tuned for fluorescence), and UV/Blue Hybrid (royal blue, near-UV, violet, and indigo, extending the violet range out to the front and back of the tank). Both bars ship in whichever spectrum is selected at checkout.

Control runs through the ReefBreeders app, which handles schedules, spectrum adjustments, and sunrise and sunset ramps. The Meridian and Edge bars connect over 2.4GHz WiFi for remote access or Bluetooth for direct local control — these are separate modes selected at setup. Each Edge bar has a manual controller built in; the Meridian accepts an optional plug-in manual controller through the port on top of the case. OHM optics are available separately in additional spreads for both the Meridian and Edge bars if a different beam angle is needed.

This bundle is sized for the Meridian 35 footprint. Assembled dimensions run 34.5 inches long with the bars level and 15 inches wide total. Recommended mounting height is 10–14 inches above the waterline, with coverage reaching 36×26 inches for SPS-dominant tanks and up to 48×36 inches for soft coral and LPS setups with the included optics. Side legs, back-of-tank mounts, and hanging kits are sold separately. The daisy chain cables are fixed length and cut for the bars in their mounted positions on the Meridian, not for an extended reach. Reef Breeders designed the Meridian around long-term parts availability rather than a fixed product cycle, making it a reasonable investment for hobbyists who plan to run the same fixture across multiple tank builds.
