Meridian 35 - Reef Breeders

The Meridian 35 is Reef Breeders' mid-range flagship in a scalable LED lineup, delivering 225 watts across three 24-LED matrices with a spectrum that extends from 400nm through 440nm — a range most reef fixtures skip entirely. Those violet and near-UV wavelengths are directly tied to tissue recovery, sustained color development, and growth rates that blue-dominant or white-heavy fixtures consistently fail to match. The result is a tank that reads noticeably sharper and more defined before you check a single number, and coral results over a three-month period that frequently include growth patterns and color expression keepers had not seen under their previous lighting.

Two LED layouts are available at purchase, each providing six independently controllable channels in the app. The Original layout targets a 20K blue aesthetic, features four 440nm indigo LEDs on a dedicated channel, and is built around the most widely used scheduling patterns Reef Breeders observed from its Photon user base. The Shallow Reef layout doubles the white LED count for a 14K shallow-water look and splits 3.5K warm whites onto their own channel, separate from 5.5K neutral whites — giving you direct control over color temperature independent of intensity. Choose one layout at the time of purchase; they are not field-swappable.

The Meridian 35 takes three OHM (Ocular Holo Matrix) optics, one per LED matrix, and ships with OHM Balance (90°) installed as the standard choice. OHM Focus (45°) concentrates output for deeper tanks or low-placed corals, while OHM Encompass (110°) widens the footprint front-to-back for shallower or wider builds. Optics are sold separately and can be mixed across the three matrices to suit a specific aquascape. The fixture also accepts Edge bars via front and rear tracks with Edge Articulating Mounts, each adding up to six or ten inches of front-to-back coverage depending on the optic used.

Control runs through the ReefBreeders app over 2.4GHz WiFi or Bluetooth — two separate modes chosen at initial setup. The app handles six-channel scheduling, sunrise and sunset ramps, and moon phase simulation tied to your location. Programs are stored on the light itself, so schedules continue through a WiFi outage or an absent phone. An optional manual controller plugs into the port on top of the case, offering two knobs for white and blue intensity and a built-in timer with preset photoperiods and optional moonlight mode — no network required.

Mounting options include suspension hardware, back-of-tank mounts, side legs, and T-track compatibility using the M6 adjustable bolts on the case top; all mounting hardware is sold separately. The recommended height is 10 to 14 inches above the waterline. The 250-watt power supply is included; daisy chaining up to 600 watts combined requires a larger supply and cables sold separately. The black aluminum case measures 34.5 by 8.5 by 1.15 inches and weighs 8.75 pounds. The Meridian 35 carries a two-year warranty on the light and one year on the power supply.
