The turbulence-reducing body helps maintain stable foam production across a range of bioloads — light through heavy — corresponding to tank volumes from 10 to 30 gallons (excluding sump volume).

The pipeless output valve sets the K1-Nano apart from many skimmers in its class. Rather than routing outflow through an above-waterline pipe, water exits submerged and to the side of the body.
