The IceCap INT Internal Media Reactor is designed from the ground up for in-sump installation, offering a plug-and-play solution for running GFO, activated carbon, or other granular media in a recirculating canister format. Rather than requiring the entire reactor to be pulled from the sump at media change time, the canister detaches independently — a practical advantage in tight sump configurations where clearance is limited.

The removable canister serves a secondary purpose beyond easy swaps: it doubles as a rinsing vessel for new media before the first run. This keeps fine particulate out of the display and avoids the clouding that often follows a fresh media load. Once rinsed and loaded, the canister re-seats into the reactor body and flow resumes without any re-plumbing.

Flow control is handled through an adjustable output valve, giving the user direct influence over the tumble rate of the media bed. For GFO in particular, this matters — too little flow and the bed channels; too much and the beads abrade prematurely. The included IceCap EVO pump is matched to each reactor size: the Small INT uses the EVO-1000 (20W), the Medium INT the EVO-2000 (30W), and the Large INT the EVO-3000 (49W).

Three body sizes are available. The Small (IC-GFO-100INT) holds approximately 2L of media and suits tanks up to 100 gallons. The Medium (IC-GFO-120INT) handles around 3L and is rated for systems up to 250 gallons. The Large (IC-GFO-150INT) accommodates roughly 6L and covers tanks up to 500 gallons. All three share the same 19–20-inch height profile, so sump depth is worth measuring before selecting a size. These are open-box units; inspect upon arrival and retain original packaging if a warranty claim becomes necessary.
