The IceCap 2K Gyre Flow Pump brings licensed Maxspect gyre technology to hobbyists who want broad, even water movement without the cost typically associated with crossflow pumps. Rather than producing a tight, directional jet, the gyre design generates a wall-to-wall linear current that turns over the entire water column and reaches corners and substrate areas that conventional powerheads routinely miss. The result is more consistent nutrient transport, better gas exchange, and reduced detritus accumulation in tanks from 20 to 90+ gallons.

Flow control is handled by the included standalone controller, which provides five preset modes to suit different livestock and feeding schedules. Constant mode delivers steady output for high-flow SPS systems; Stream Wave and Pulsing modes simulate natural surge; Random mode breaks up predictable patterns; and Cycle mode rotates through programs automatically. Night mode detects ambient light levels and drops the pump to its minimum speed, reducing disturbance during dark hours without any manual input. A 20-minute feed mode temporarily reduces flow, and the controller lock prevents accidental setting changes.

The pump ships with two sets of propellers—orange and black—and twin directional flow cages, giving you flexibility in how the gyre current is aimed. Waterproof magnet mounts hold the unit securely on glass or acrylic panels up to ½" thick, and the low-profile housing can be positioned close to the water surface to hide it behind rockwork or a waterline. At 8.78" × 2.83" × 1.5", the footprint is modest relative to the flow output.
