The IceCap 2K Gyre Flow Pump generates a crossflow circulation pattern that moves water in a sweeping horizontal band from one end of the aquarium to the other. Unlike propeller-style wavemakers, which concentrate flow in a narrow cone and leave dead zones at the periphery, a gyre pump distributes flow evenly across the length of the tank. Water reaches the far wall, rebounds, and completes a full circulation loop—eliminating the stagnant pockets where detritus accumulates and nutrient export suffers. The 2K is sized for systems in the 20- to 90-gallon range, with an adjustable output between 739 and 2,000 GPH and a power draw of only 8–25 watts across that range.
This listing is the pump-only variant, sold without the standalone controller and power supply included in the standard kit. It is intended specifically for use with the HYDROS WaveEngine multi-pump controller via the Direct Drive ports on the WaveEngine's front panel. With the appropriate HYDROS IceCap Gyre WaveEngine Pump Adapter, the 2K connects directly to the WaveEngine, which can manage up to four pumps from different brands under a single app and a single power supply. Removing four separate power bricks and controllers from your sump cabinet is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for multi-pump installations, and the pump-only price reflects the hardware you are not receiving.

A single IceCap 2K moves water in a sweeping linear band from one end of the aquarium to the other. The flow rebounds off the far wall and returns along the opposite plane, completing a full gyre circulation loop.
Dual Pump Opposing Flow Configuration
Two pumps mounted on opposite ends and angled in opposing directions create a reinforced gyre pattern with stronger midwater circulation. This configuration is commonly used in larger tanks or where more aggressive flow is needed.
