The HYDROS Duet is a combined dosing and control unit aimed at reef keepers who have outgrown basic hobby-grade dosers. Its two stepper motor pumps are engineered for continuous-duty operation, delivering consistent, repeatable flow across a wide range from 0.1 to 500 mL/min. That range makes the Duet equally at home handling precision kalkwasser additions and high-volume automated water changes — tasks that typically require separate, purpose-built equipment.

Beyond dosing, the Duet functions as a capable HYDROS ecosystem controller. Four Sense Ports support a range of monitoring accessories including temperature probes, optical water level sensors, leak detectors, and flow sensors. The onboard Drive Port provides direct 12V control for accessories like ATO pumps, cooling fans, or cabinet lighting without requiring an additional controller. This consolidation reduces the number of discrete devices needed to run a complex system.

Two HYDROS Command Bus ports allow the Duet to join a broader HYDROS network alongside devices like the Control X10 or XP8. Connected devices share power, monitoring data, and automation logic, creating a coordinated control environment where one device can trigger or safeguard another. This architecture is particularly useful as reef systems scale up and automation requirements become more involved.

The enclosure is rated splash-proof and dust-resistant, appropriate for sump cabinet environments where salt spray and humidity are ongoing concerns. Aircraft-style connectors are used throughout for corrosion resistance and secure seating over the long term. These are details that matter in a space where poor connections are a common failure point.

Setup is handled through the HYDROS app, which uses a drag-and-drop interface for building schedules, automation rules, and alert thresholds — no programming knowledge required. Remote monitoring and push notifications for out-of-range parameters or leak events are included. The Duet ships with a power supply and barbed fittings for tubing connections, so basic installation can begin without additional hardware.
