XS (Controller Only) - Hydros

The Hydros Control XS delivers the core capabilities of a capable aquarium controller in a compact enclosure. It monitors temperature, detects leaks, manages outlet scheduling, and sends user-configured alerts — covering the essential automation needs of most reef and freshwater setups without relying on a central hub or single point of communication failure. Every Control XS operates as an independent smart device with its own CPU, meaning it can function as a standalone unit or slot into a multi-device Hydros ecosystem with no degradation in reliability.

Four universal Sense Ports give the XS considerable flexibility for sensor integration. A single Sense Port can accept temperature probes, optical or capacitive liquid level sensors, rope and point leak detectors, flow rate sensors, magnetic switches, or push-button switches — the port type is determined by what's plugged in, not by fixed hardware. Two Command Bus connections handle both power delivery to the controller and inter-device communication with other Hydros hardware, preserving system control even if one node in the network goes offline.

The Hydros app supports control of up to eight WiFi-connected devices, including the brand's 4-Outlet WiFi AC Power Strips and Smart Outlets. Rules and schedules can be built to automate pumps, heaters, lights, skimmers, UV sterilizers, and other equipment. Local WiFi control is also available for situations where cloud access is unavailable or undesirable.

Built to hold up in the corrosive environment of a marine aquarium, the Control XS carries an IP-65 rating for splash and dust resistance. Aircraft-style connectors reinforce long-term connection integrity against salt spray and humidity. The unit is backed by a one-year limited warranty through CoralVue, registered from the date of purchase.
