Hydros Control XD (Controller Only) - Hydros

The Hydros Control XD fills a specific gap in a Hydros build: when you need more 12V DC drive outputs or an additional Command Bus node without adding a full controller. Three Drive ports deliver switched 12V DC power, each rated to 1.5A with a combined device limit of 3A. Current monitoring on each port is continuous, so the system will alert you if a connected device stops drawing current or exceeds its rated load — a practical safeguard for dosing pumps and ATO circuits that need to run reliably and unattended.

Two Command Bus ports connect the Control XD into the broader Hydros ecosystem, enabling data transfer and power sharing with other Hydros devices. This bus architecture is central to how Hydros builds in redundancy: control decisions are made locally within each device by a dual-core 32-bit processor, so the system does not depend entirely on cloud connectivity to act. Internal health monitoring tracks voltages, currents, CPU status, and internal temperature, giving you a clear picture of the device's condition through the app.

Setup is handled through the Hydros cloud-based app, which supports remote access from anywhere as well as local WiFi control. Scheduling, rules, and alerts are configured through the same interface used for all other Hydros devices — no proprietary programming language is required. The app also allows the Control XD to coordinate with up to eight WiFi-connected devices, including Hydros 4-outlet power strips and smart outlets, expanding the range of equipment it can influence.

The Control XD ships with its power supply and nothing else. It is intended as a companion device for hobbyists who already have a Hydros controller and need to extend their system's DC drive capacity or add a redundant power node. The IP65-rated enclosure and aircraft-style connectors are designed to hold up against salt spray and incidental splashing in a typical sump or equipment area.
