The Hydra Edge 68 HD is AI's flagship single-fixture solution for mid-to-large reef tanks, packing 68 LEDs across six spectral channels into a low-profile 1.16" chassis. The fixture is built around EdgeField Optics, a custom optical design that blends channels uniformly before light exits the fixture — the result is smooth color rendering across the tank floor with no visible banding or hotspots. At a 100-degree spread, one unit covers up to a 36" x 36" footprint with consistent PAR from edge to center.

Solar Ring technology adds a cluster of white and warm white LEDs arranged to produce controllable shimmer and caustic effects — the kind of dynamic light movement that static LED arrays cannot replicate. Paired with the Solar Blue spectrum, which enhances coral fluorescence through adjustable blue-to-white channel ratios, the Edge 68 HD gives reefers precise control over both the biological and aesthetic dimensions of their lighting schedule.

HyperDrive Technology is the fixture's performance ceiling mechanism: when one channel is running below its maximum, unused wattage can be redirected to another channel to push total output higher without triggering overcurrent conditions. This is particularly useful for PAR-demanding SPS systems where blue and violet output needs to be maximized. A dedicated 2300K LED moonlight channel operates independently for lunar cycle simulation without affecting the main schedule.

Control is available through MyAI (AI's native mobile app), Mobius (AI's cloud-based scheduling platform), or Apex Fusion via an MXM module for Neptune Apex users. On-fixture button control allows intensity adjustment in 20% increments and factory reset without app access.
