Diaphragm Water Pump - Hydros
Goes well with:
The HYDROS Diaphragm Water Pump gives HYDROS users a purpose-built liquid-transfer option that integrates directly with their existing controller. Rather than relying on a separate float-switch-driven pump, this unit plugs into an open Drive Port and is managed entirely through the HYDROS ecosystem — meaning flow can be scheduled, automated, or tied to sensor triggers the same way any other Drive Port device would be. That level of integration makes it especially useful as a primary ATO pump on tanks where the HYDROS Water Level or Optical Sensor is already handling detection.
Diaphragm pumps operate by positive external displacement, which produces a few practical advantages over submersible impeller-style ATO pumps. The pump is self-priming, so it does not need to be submerged or manually siphon-started. It can run dry without damage — a meaningful safeguard if the reservoir empties before the controller cuts power. The internal check-valve design also prevents backflow siphoning, eliminating the need for a separate inline check valve in most installations.
The pump is surface-mountable and ships with a universal han-on tubing mount, an inline intake filter, and 6.5 feet of 5/32-inch ID tubing. At 4 × 2.25 × 1.375 inches and 3 watts, it occupies minimal cabinet space and draws little power. The 6-foot cable reaches most standard sump configurations without an extension. Rated pump life is 500 hours, which is worth factoring into a maintenance schedule for high-duty-cycle applications.
This pump is intended specifically for use with a HYDROS controller that has an available Drive Port. It is not a standalone unit and will not operate without a compatible HYDROS device. Verify that a Drive Port is open on your Apex-style HYDROS setup before purchasing, and size the run against the 9-foot maximum head rating to confirm adequate flow will reach the destination.
