The Blade LED Hybrid Mounting Kit is designed for reef keepers who want to supplement an existing EcoTech Marine Radion or Aqua Illumination Hydra fixture with two Blade LED strips rather than replacing their current setup entirely. By flanking a primary fixture with Blade LEDs, the hybrid approach fills in lateral shadows, adds spectral variety, and distributes PAR more evenly across the tank — all without creating the intensity hot spots that come from stacking output in a single point source.
Compatibility is limited to four fixtures: the EcoTech Marine Radion XR15 and XR30, and the AI Hydra 32 and Hydra 64. The kit ships with two hybrid mounting brackets and four Blade LED mounting clips, which attach directly to the arms or rail of the compatible primary fixture. For tanks running multiple primary fixtures, Aqua Illumination recommends one Hybrid Mounting Kit per fixture. This is especially relevant when using longer Blade strips — those exceeding 39 inches benefit from the additional mechanical support a dedicated bracket set provides.
For the full installation, this kit should be paired with a compatible overhead mounting solution. Aqua Illumination and EcoTech Marine both offer suitable options: the EcoTech RMS tank mounts, RMS track and hanging kit, the AI light mount kit, and the HMS multi-light track and hanging kit are all cited as compatible. The Blade LED fixtures themselves are sold separately and are not included in this kit.
