In heavily filtered reef systems — particularly those running protein skimmers and other ultra-low nutrient methods — dissolved amino acids are continuously stripped from the water column. These compounds are not incidental; corals and other cnidarians absorb amino acids directly through their tissue surface and rely on them to construct their calcium carbonate skeletal architecture. AcroPower is a concentrated liquid supplement designed to replenish that supply, giving SPS-dominant tanks a resource that standard two-part and trace element programs do not address.

The most visible result of consistent AcroPower use is enhanced coloration at the growing tips and margins of Acropora and other SPS corals. This is not a dye or a short-term staining effect — it reflects genuine tissue extension and the metabolic activity associated with active growth. Tanks that run very lean nutrient levels often see the most pronounced response, since those are the systems where amino acid depletion is most severe.

Dosing is straightforward. The recommended rate is 5 mL per 25 gallons once per week, added directly to a high-flow area for rapid dispersion throughout the water column. For more precise delivery, the same weekly volume can be divided into daily increments and administered via a dosing pump. The formula requires no refrigeration and should be stored in a cool, dry place. As with any amino acid supplement, it is advisable to monitor nutrient parameters when first introducing AcroPower, since organic additions can influence bacterial populations and, indirectly, nitrate and phosphate levels in very stable systems.
