Reef Octopus Varios 12: Everything You Need to Know

What's going on, reefers? Blaine here. We're standing here at the Reef Octopus booth, and we're very excited talking about some new products that have just recently kind of started to come out. I'm here with Jeremy. Jeremy, thank you so much for letting me stop by, crash in for a minute, talk a little bit about Reef Octopus. You guys have an extensive line of products. We use a ton in the farm. Let's talk a little bit about the Varios 12, one of the newer ones that we've recently brought into TopShelf. Let's talk about it here today at the booth. This bad boy right here, this is the newest line of various pumps. This is a commercial AC controllable pump with a head pressure of 32 feet. And there's multiple units at this point, right? It's not just the Varios 12. There's numerous other models. Correct. [music] Various 10, Various 8, Various 6, 4, and two. And then what's the new upgrades that have come with the Varios 12 comparative to all the other models? All the other models are a DC controllable. This is an AC phase pump. It's commercial rate is 350 watts, which is actually less than most aquarium heaters, hobbyist grade. So, it makes a big difference when you're doing the commercial sector and you want 6,000 gallons per hour going straight up a couple floors, you know, for sure. This is definitely for tanks that are a little bit bigger. Also, probably situations where you have a some space in a different room entirely. Maybe you're on a different floor and you need all that head pressure. What are we talking for head pressure when it comes to this big old pump? 32 ft. 32 ft. That is a lot of moving water. And ultimately, what's the kind of usage when it comes to wattage output for this pump when it's running? 350 watts at full blast. And then it's a full controllable. So, you have uh I believe it's a sector power base. So, just like the various 10, you have the 99 control settings. Gotcha. One of the things that I've noticed recently is we've used some of these various pumps on our installations, the custom installs. [music] I've seen that we're running them, but we ultimately don't need to run them as high as we need to because these pumps are so strong. Is that something that you guys are kind of a goal for Reef Octopus is really bring on that power so that way you're not having to run it at 100%. Exactly. It's all about efficiency when it comes down to trying to reduce down the size of the equipment, reduce down the wattage and efficiency, you know, our carbon footprint. That's what they're trying to accomplish with these guys. outside of the things we've talked about with the various 12. Jeremy, anything else you wanted to talk about before we kind of wrap up with this? Still got external controls through the zero to 10, so you could hook up your favorite controller that's got the 010 base like the hydro so you can have full control over it monitoring. Um, [music] other than that, uh, thermalbased plastic. Gotcha. Okay. This is new for this model. It actually helps keep it cool [music] um versus the normal epoxy plastic that comes with the various. So that's helping to keep the heat from dissipating from the product itself. I'm sure that's really beneficial for this unit in particular with it being the biggest of the models. Probably helpful because I'm sure it probably can get pretty hot. Biggest thing is [music] it's not just a water pump, but it's also available as the biggest pin wheelel pump. Gotcha. Okay. So, we got our big commercial skimmers that are now going to be housed with the V12s. Okay. So, the V12s are now going to be utilized as well outside of just a return pump. They can be also used within your skimmers, too. Very cool. Being in the commercial market with the big skimmers with And then, like you said, you've got Hydros there on your chest.
