Beginner Corals LPS Duncan

Duncanopsammia axifuga

Overview

Green Stem Duncan Coral is a branching LPS coral with fleshy tentacles and a bright green skeletal base. It is a forgiving choice for mixed reefs when given low to moderate light, low to moderate indirect flow, and room to expand. Regular small feedings can support faster head growth.

Care & Placement

Place Green Stem Duncan Coral in the lower to middle portion of the aquarium under low to moderate light. Use gentle, variable flow that moves the tentacles without folding them over the skeleton. Duncans tolerate a range of mixed-reef conditions, but stable alkalinity, calcium, salinity, and temperature support consistent polyp extension and new head formation. Leave several inches around the colony so fully expanded polyps do not contact neighboring corals.
