Dive Deeper: PolypLab Products
Reef-Roids Coral Food
The product the brand is built on. Reef-Roids is a fine, mixed-particle coral food designed to be small enough for LPS and zoanthid feeding tentacles to actually capture. Mix a small amount with tank water into a slurry, turn the flow off, and target-feed with a baster. Expect visible polyp extension within seconds — that response is the point, and it is why the product has stayed in the hobby for so long.
Dosing note: less than you think. Overfeeding Reef-Roids is a common cause of nutrient spikes and nuisance algae in small tanks. Start with a quarter of what the label suggests and watch nitrate and phosphate for two weeks.
Medic — Parasite Treatment
A copper-free treatment for marine ich and other external parasites, formulated to be used in a display tank where a copper treatment cannot go. It is not a substitute for proper quarantine, but it is the option when a parasite is already in a reef.
Reef Primer — Coral Dip
A dip for new frags and colonies, targeting flatworms, nudibranchs, red bugs and other hitchhikers before they reach your display. Every frag should be dipped before it goes in the tank; this is one of the standard choices.
Genesis Rock Filter Media
Porous filter media blocks (4-pack) providing biological filtration surface area in a sump or filter chamber.
Scope Blue LED Flashlight
A blue-spectrum flashlight for viewing coral fluorescence and for spotting pests at night, when most of them are actually out.
