Radion XR15 G6 Blue LED Light Fixture - EcoTech Marine

The Radion XR15 G6 Blue is the latest iteration of EcoTech Marine's flagship compact reef light, and it targets hobbyists who want dialed-in blue-spectrum output in a small, wall-power-friendly form factor. The central engineering change in the G6 is the HEI2 optical system: a redesigned primary lens working in concert with the existing hemispherical secondary lens to push the beam spread from 110.5 degrees on the previous generation to 126.3 degrees. That wider spread isn't just aesthetic — light reflected off side glass walls reduces shadowing under coral colonies and contributes to more even PAR across the footprint, which means fewer fixtures are needed to cover a given tank.

The Blue variant has been specifically retuned for aquarists who prefer a high-actinic aesthetic or who are keeping SPS and LPS corals that respond strongly to violet and UV wavelengths. EcoTech added 395nm diodes to the G6 Blue, which sit deeper in the UV spectrum than previous generations and produce noticeably stronger fluorescence response in corals. The LED mix — 50 diodes total including Royal Blue, Blue, Violet (430nm), and three UV bands — can be tuned within the Mobius app to shift the character of the blue between a crisp actinic look and a warmer, bluer-white output. The onboard color channel structure gives meaningful per-channel control rather than a simple intensity slider.

Control is entirely app-based through EcoTech's Mobius platform, available free on iOS and Android. Mobius handles scheduling, spectrum programming, weather and lunar simulation, and multi-fixture synchronization without requiring a separate controller purchase. For reef systems already running Neptune Systems Apex, the XR15 G6 Blue is MXM-compatible, meaning it can be added to Apex Fusion alongside EcoTech and Aqua Illumination flow and dosing equipment under a single interface.

The XR15 G6 Blue measures 7" x 7" x 1.5" and weighs 3.5 lbs, making it well suited for nano and mid-sized reef tanks. Recommended coverage is 24" x 24" at a mounting height of 8–10", with a maximum spread of 30" x 30". The fixture ships with a power supply, power adapter cable, eyelet mounts, a microfiber cloth, and a quick start guide. It is backward-compatible with EcoTech's full RMS mounting ecosystem — including single-arm kits, multi-light track systems, and hanging kits — so upgrading from a previous Radion generation does not require replacing existing mounting hardware.
