Each pack contains 25 pre-measured single-use packets, eliminating the need to weigh or prepare reagent solutions in the field. The zinc reduction chemistry causes nitrate in the sample to produce a characteristic pink tint, which the HI782 Checker HC reads colorimetrically to determine concentration. Results are reported in ppm of nitrate as NO3– with a working range of 0.0 to 75.0 ppm, covering the upper end of what most reef and fish-only marine systems might encounter.
Pre-measured packets reduce the primary source of user error in colorimetric testing: inconsistent reagent volume. Each packet is produced in Hanna's manufacturing facility using high-purity chemicals, and every batch is stamped with a lot number and expiration date. This makes it straightforward to verify reagent validity and maintain records if you are tracking water quality data over time.
These reagents are designed exclusively for use with saltwater samples and are compatible only with the HI782 Marine Nitrate High Range Checker HC.
