The HYDROS WaveEngine V2 is a centralized flow management controller designed to replace the tangle of individual pump controllers, dedicated apps, and power bricks that accumulate under a reef tank. It can power up to four pumps simultaneously through its Direct Drive outputs—eliminating the need for separate power supplies for compatible Maxspect Gyre, IceCap Gyre, and Reef Octopus OCTO Pulse and RODC models—and controls them all through a single HYDROS app on your mobile device. The result is a significantly cleaner equipment cabinet and a unified interface for managing every aspect of your tank's flow.
For pumps equipped with a 0-10V port—including models from Tunze, Abyzz, and several Reef Octopus lines—the WaveEngine connects via a HYDROS 0-10V quad adapter, giving you access to each pump's native flow modes and presets without custom programming. Both connection types support the same suite of flow pattern options: sync, anti-sync, triangle wave, square wave, sine wave, and user-defined patterns with resolution down to 1/1000 of a second over cycles up to 24 hours long. Pumps can be organized into groups, assigned a physical location within the tank, and configured with individual speed limits to match the demands of your specific system.
Version 2 adds WiFi device control for up to eight accessories—HYDROS WiFi Power Strips and Smart Plugs (sold separately)—bringing lights, feeders, and ancillary equipment into the same control environment as your pumps. The WaveEngine also features CommandBus ports that allow direct connection to other HYDROS controllers, enabling cross-device communication and allowing the WaveEngine to supply power to those units as well. Power consumption tracking at the individual pump level (volts, amps, and watts) and real-time RPM monitoring give you visibility into system performance and early warning of pump degradation.
Setup requires appropriate pump adapters or 0-10V cables, which are sold separately. Maxspect Gyre XF-280 pumps are supported but are limited to 75% maximum intensity. The WaveEngine V2 is cloud-connected, meaning you can adjust settings and receive status notifications remotely. It carries a one-year limited warranty from CoralVue, applicable to the original purchaser.
