The Hydros Triple Optical Water Level Sensor gives reef and freshwater keepers a straightforward, reliable way to track water level at three distinct points in a sump, AIO chamber, or reservoir. Where a single-point float switch can only tell you wet or dry, this sensor distinguishes between a normal operating level, a low level that triggers top-off, and a safety level that shuts down a feed pump and fires an alarm if something goes wrong with the fill cycle. That layered logic reduces the risk of an overflow or a dry-running pump caused by a stuck float or a faulty ATO.

The sensing element is purely optical — no moving parts means no mechanical failure from salt creep, debris, or a stuck float arm. The sensor body couples magnetically to its mount, with the magnet side measuring just ¼" thick. It attaches to most clear, tinted, or painted vessel walls up to ½" thick, so it works on standard acrylic and glass sumps alike. Repositioning is quick: pull the magnet, move it, done. Cleaning is equally simple.

Connectivity is plug-and-play for anyone already running Hydros hardware. The sensor plugs directly into any Sense Port on a Control XS, X2, X4, or X10 with no additional power wiring. The GX12 aviation-style connector is the same locking connector used across the Hydros ecosystem, maintaining the host controller's IP65 dust-tight and water-spray rating. The 75" cord gives enough reach to route cleanly inside a typical aquarium stand without an extension.

Setup and placement considerations are minimal. The sensor works in full daylight or complete darkness, so it can be tucked into an enclosed stand or a rear chamber without any performance penalty. It is rated for both freshwater and saltwater use. The unit carries a one-year warranty from CoralVue/Hydros against defects in materials and workmanship, active from the date of purchase.
