The Hydros Control X4 PRO Pack is a two-unit aquarium controller system designed for hobbyists who want comprehensive parameter monitoring and mains-power control in a single, integrated setup. The Control X4 serves as the sensing and low-voltage brain of the system, while the Control XP8 adds eight individually switched 120V AC outlets with per-outlet power monitoring. Both units connect via the HYDROS Command Bus, forming a redundant collective where each device maintains its own CPU and scheduling — so a network interruption doesn't leave your tank unprotected.

The Control X4 brings four Sense Ports that accept a wide range of input types including temperature probes, optical and capacitive level sensors, rope and point leak detectors, flow sensors, and magnetic or push-button switches. Two Drive Ports supply switched 12V DC power for ATO pumps, cooling fans, cabinet LEDs, and solenoid-controlled RO systems, with continuous current monitoring on each port. Two Probe Ports use digitally isolated, high-impedance circuitry purpose-built for pH and ORP probes, preventing motor and pump interference from corrupting your readings. A 0-10V I/O port extends compatibility to variable-speed pumps and legacy automation inputs from other manufacturers.

The Control XP8 is a full-featured controller in its own right — not simply a dumb power strip. Each of its eight outlets is independently switched and monitored, and the unit is rated for universal voltage (110–220V) with a 60W Meanwell power supply and passive cooling. Like the X4, the XP8 can control up to eight WiFi devices such as dosing pumps, feeders, and HYDROS Smart Plugs or WiFi Power Strips, and its Command Bus ports allow it to share or take over decision-making for the entire collective if needed.

Expansion requires no additional modules. Any HYDROS device — additional controllers, WiFi outlets, smart plugs — can join the same collective through the Command Bus or WiFi, and each one independently executes its own logic. The HYDROS cloud app provides remote access and monitoring from anywhere, while local WiFi control remains available if the cloud connection is interrupted. Internal diagnostics continuously report voltage, current draw, CPU status, and device temperature across all connected hardware.

This pack ships ready to deploy: the included temperature sensor and pH probe with calibration solutions cover immediate parameter monitoring needs, and the 6-foot Command Bus cable connects both controllers out of the box. The X4 is rated IP65, making it suitable for the humid cabinet environments typical of reef setups. A one-year limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase.
