X2 (Controller Only) - Hydros

The Hydros Control X2 is a full-featured aquarium controller in a compact, industrial-grade enclosure. It handles the primary control tasks most aquarists need—temperature monitoring, leak detection, outlet scheduling, and accessory power—and delivers all of it through a single, unified cloud app. Whether you are running a simple freshwater planted tank or a complex reef system, the X2 gives you remote visibility and control without requiring a complicated setup or programming background.

At the core of the X2 are two Sense Ports, a flexible input architecture that accepts temperature probes, optical and capacitive liquid level sensors, rope and point leak detectors, flow rate sensors, magnetic switches, and push-button switches. Rather than locking you into a proprietary sensor family, Sense Ports are designed to accommodate future sensor types as the platform evolves. Two Drive Ports provide switched 12V DC power for ATO pumps, cooling fans, cabinet LED lights, and RO solenoids. Each Drive Port continuously monitors the current being drawn, so a pump failure or overcurrent condition triggers an immediate notification rather than silently damaging equipment.

The X2 operates on the HYDROS Safety Net architecture, where every device on the network has its own dual-core 32-bit processor and independent scheduling capability. This means there is no central hub whose failure brings down the whole system. Two Command Bus ports allow the X2 to share power and data with other HYDROS devices, making it straightforward to expand from a single controller to a coordinated multi-unit setup as your system grows. Internal health monitoring tracks voltages, CPU status, and the controller's own internal temperature, giving you a clear picture of hardware health alongside aquarium parameters.

The enclosure is rated IP65 for splash and dust resistance, and the aircraft-style locking connectors resist the corrosive salt spray that shortens the life of consumer-grade hardware.
