Cerith Snail

Cerith Snails are incredibly efficient sandbed cleaners, and make a fantastic addition to any reef tank with a sandbed. These versatile snails spend the majority of their time underneath the surface of the sand, searching for detritus, diatoms, and a wide variety of algae to consume. Cerith snails are known to consume a broad range of nuisance algae including cyanobacteria and hair algae, making them a valuable part of any clean-up crew. Cerith snails will readily breed in most reef aquariums, leaving behind ‘ribbons’ of eggs on the aquarium walls and surfaces, though these will typically be consumed by most fishes and other invertebrates if left alone.
