Wild adults feed primarily on small crustaceans, hunting from a perch and darting out at prey that passes within reach. In the aquarium, that appetite translates well to a varied carnivorous menu: chopped marine meats, frozen carnivore preparations, mysis-type foods, and appropriately sized live shrimp.
