The IceCap K3-200INT is an in-sump protein skimmer designed for reef and saltwater fish systems up to 400 gallons, with real-world capacity depending on bioload. Heavy-stocked systems will sit closer to the 200-gallon end of that range, while lightly loaded displays can push toward the upper limit. The skimmer's body is constructed from high-clarity acrylic and houses the DCAIR 6.0 pinwheel pump, which uses a needle-wheel impeller design to generate a dense foam column without the noise and inefficiency associated with older air-injection methods.

The DCAIR 6.0 pump draws 35 watts at full power and moves approximately 352 gallons per hour of water while pulling 1,200 liters per hour of air. Ten discrete power levels give you meaningful control over skimmate production — useful when tuning after a water change, a large feeding, or a shift in bioload. The submerged, pipeless output keeps plumbing simple and eliminates common leak points found in skimmers that route effluent through external pipe fittings.

The included DC24V pump controller handles both power adjustment and feed-mode timing from a single unit. There are no separate apps or modules required; the controller is self-contained and straightforward to operate. This makes the K3-200INT a practical choice for hobbyists who want DC-pump flexibility without added complexity.

For installation, plan for a sump section that can maintain 7–10 inches of water depth — below that range the skimmer will introduce excess air; above it, water throughput and foam production will be reduced. The 12.24" x 8.5" footprint is relatively small for a skimmer at this capacity, and the 22" total height should be confirmed against your sump's available headroom before ordering. The 8mm ID cup drain fitting is compatible with standard silicone tubing for continuous cup drainage if needed.
