The IceCap K3 200 HOB is a hang-on-back protein skimmer designed for reef and fish-only systems up to 140 gallons where a traditional sump is absent or impractical. The cylindrical body shape is a deliberate engineering choice — it reduces internal turbulence and promotes a stable, consistent contact zone between water and air, which translates directly to more reliable waste removal over time. For hobbyists running lightly stocked systems or nano-to-mid-size setups without a refugium, this is a practical and space-efficient filtration option.

The skimmer is driven by IceCap's DCAIR 1.0 pinwheel pump, a variable-speed DC unit that draws 10 watts at full output and pulls approximately 500 lph of air and 158.5 gph of water. Because the pump is mounted externally rather than submerged inside the skimmer body, it contributes less heat to the water — a meaningful consideration for reef tanks where temperature stability directly affects coral and invertebrate health. Speed is adjustable via the included DC24V controller, so you can dial in skimmate production as bioload and tank conditions change.

The collection cup drains via an 8mm ID / 12mm OD port, compatible with standard tubing for automatic cup drainage if desired.
