The Hydros WaveEngine LE addresses a genuine friction point in reef keeping: managing flow pumps from different manufacturers through a tangle of individual controllers, dedicated apps, and DC power bricks. By consolidating control into the HYDROS app, the WaveEngine LE lets you define, schedule, and adjust flow patterns for two pumps simultaneously, regardless of brand, from a single interface. Direct Drive ports on the unit accept pump heads without their native control heads or power supplies, reducing cable clutter at the aquarium stand.

Flow pattern control goes beyond simple on/off scheduling. The WaveEngine LE supports a range of preset waveforms — sync, anti-sync, triangle, square, sine, and others — and allows you to define custom patterns with up to 24 hours of duration and 1/1000-second timing resolution. Per-pump speed minimums and maximums are configurable, and pumps can be organized into groups with shared operational modes including Feed, Water Change, and Night mode. RPM monitoring and real-time power consumption data (volts, amps, watts) per pump and in aggregate give you visibility into actual pump performance rather than assumed output.

Compatibility currently covers a meaningful cross-section of popular direct-drive pumps: Maxspect Gyre XF-130/230, XF-150/250, XF-330/350, and XF-280 (capped at 75% max intensity); IceCap Gyre 1K, 2K, 3K, and 4K; and Reef Octopus RODC-2500/3500/5500, VarioS-2/4, and Octo Pulse 2/4. Cloud connectivity enables remote control and real-time status notifications from anywhere.

Before purchasing, confirm that your specific pump model is on the supported list and note that a pump-specific adapter cable is required to connect pumps to the WaveEngine LE — these adapters are not included. The unit measures 5 x 2.7 x 1.9 inches and draws a maximum of 120W. A 100–240V, 4A power supply with power cord is included in the box.
