HYDROS Triple Optical ATO Kit - Open Box - Hydros

The HYDROS Triple Optical ATO Kit is designed for reef and saltwater keepers who already own a HYDROS Control X2 or X4 and want to add auto top-off capability without buying a standalone ATO device. Everything required to set up a complete top-off loop ships in a single box: the Triple Water Level Sensor, DC Micro Pump, hang-on tubing mount, 80 inches of tubing, and a siphon break. The result is a cleaner equipment footprint and one fewer controller to manage.

The Triple Water Level Sensor is the defining feature of this kit. It uses optical detection with no moving parts, eliminating the float switches and mechanical arms that are common failure points in traditional ATO sensors. The sensing assembly is split into two magnetic halves — the optical eye and a magnet coupling — allowing it to mount on clear, tinted, or painted walls up to ½" thick. The footprint is minimal: the sensor body is just over a half-inch thick with a circumference roughly the size of a US penny, and the magnet side is only ¼" thick. Because it operates in total darkness, it works equally well inside a closed sump cabinet or in the back chambers of an all-in-one tank. Connection is through a standard HYDROS Sense Port via an aviation-style plug, and no additional power source is required.

The included DC Micro Pump is compact but capable, rated at 50 GPH with a maximum head pressure of 6 feet — sufficient for most under-tank reservoir setups. It runs on 12V, draws no more than 5W, and is powered entirely through the HYDROS Drive Port. This means the controller manages the pump directly: no splitter cables, no wall adapters, and no additional outlets consumed. The pump uses a brushless motor with a rated service life of 30,000 hours.

This kit is purpose-built for HYDROS ecosystems and will not function independently of a HYDROS controller. Before purchasing, confirm your Control X2 or X4 has an available Sense Port and Drive Port. The 80" tubing run accommodates most standard cabinet-to-sump or reservoir configurations, but measure your intended path before assuming the included length is sufficient. The siphon break and hang-on mount are included to complete a basic installation without sourcing additional hardware.
