Hydros Sole - Hydros

The Hydros Sole occupies a specific niche in the Hydros lineup: it pairs a capable cloud-connected controller with a single, industrial-grade stepper-motor dosing pump purpose-built for continuous operation. Where standard peristaltic dosers are sized for intermittent, timed additions, the Sole is designed to run indefinitely without overheating or degrading—making it the right tool for calcium reactor effluent regulation, kalkwasser top-off, sulfur denitrification reactors, and similar applications where the pump may run for hours at a stretch.

The dosing pump covers a wide flow range, from 0.1 to 300 mL/min, adjustable through the Hydros app. It accepts 3x5mm tubing with 1/4" push-fit fittings for straightforward plumbing, and the pump head is designed to be serviced without specialized tools. The stepper motor runs quietly relative to peristaltic alternatives and can also be reversed—useful for priming lines or clearing blockages without disconnecting tubing.

On the controller side, the Sole runs on a dual-core 32-bit processor that makes local control decisions without relying on cloud connectivity. Two Command Bus ports allow it to communicate with and power other Hydros devices, and internal health monitoring tracks voltages, CPU load, and internal temperature. The enclosure is splash-proof and dust-resistant, with aircraft-style connectors rated for the corrosive environment around a saltwater system. Alerts and notifications are user-configured through the app.

The Sole works as a standalone controller or as part of a larger Hydros network. It does not include AC outlet control on its own—a Hydros XP8 or WiFi Power Strip is required to switch lights, pumps, skimmers, and other equipment, and is sold separately. The package includes the Sole controller, power supply, and a calibration beaker. A one-year limited warranty is provided by CoralVue, activated on the date of purchase.
