Each cluster group contains 24 diodes—12 Royal Blue, 6 Blue, and 6 Cool White—arranged to deliver the balanced blue-dominant spectrum corals require for photosynthesis. The result is a wide, consistent blanket of light with the natural shimmer effect that reef keepers look for, without the uneven hot spots common to simpler strip designs.
The Coral Grow spectrum targets the 400–500nm range, making it the higher-PAR option in AI's Blade lineup. It works well on its own for systems that prioritize growth output, and it pairs cleanly with the Blade Coral Glow for hobbyists who also want enhanced fluorescence. AI recommends a 2:1 Grow-to-Glow ratio for peak performance, though a 1:1 mix is workable in lower-light applications. The Blade's modular format also makes it a practical choice for supplemental or fill lighting alongside existing pendant fixtures, including Hydra and Radion units via the Hybrid Mount accessory.
Seven length options—12.1 to 66.1 inches—allow the Blade to fit tanks of most standard dimensions. Passive cooling keeps the fixture silent, and IP66 water resistance means it can handle the humid, splash-prone environment above a reef tank without concern. Power consumption scales with length, ranging from 20W to 140W at full output. The universal 100–240V power supply handles both domestic and international electrical standards.

MXM compatibility brings the Blade into Neptune Systems Apex ecosystems alongside EcoTech Marine equipment, consolidating light and equipment control into a single interface. Fixtures up to 39 inches ship with a Tank Rest; fixtures over 39 inches include two Mounting Clips compatible with the AI HMS Single Arm Mount and HMS Hanging Kit.
