Description
Open Box - Damaged packaging from factory.

ABC reagents are reagent solutions for automated testing systems that analyze alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in aquarium water. The same solutions can also be used to manually test kH, Ca, and Mg levels. Each pack pairs A reagent for alkalinity with B and C reagents for calcium and magnesium, all in 250 mL bottles.

What Each Reagent Tests

Reagent Parameter
A Alkalinity (kH)
B Calcium / Magnesium (Ca/Mg)
C Calcium / Magnesium (Ca/Mg)

Supply Pack Options

These ABC water test reagents are available in two pack sizes.*

2-Month Supply

  • 2x A (Alkalinity) Reagent, 250 mL bottles
  • 1x B (Ca/Mg) Reagent, 250 mL bottle
  • 1x C (Ca/Mg) Reagent, 250 mL bottle

6-Month Supply

  • 6x A (Alkalinity) Reagent, 250 mL bottles
  • 3x B (Ca/Mg) Reagent, 250 mL bottles
  • 3x C (Ca/Mg) Reagent, 250 mL bottles

* Monthly supply based on common testing frequencies of automated systems.

Choosing a Pack Size

Alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium are core parameters for reef aquariums, and an automated tester can only keep tracking them while it has reagent on hand. Both packs include twice as many A (alkalinity) bottles as B or C bottles, and the 6-month supply contains three times the bottles of the 2-month supply, so you can keep a longer reserve in stock between orders. Before ordering, confirm that your testing system uses A, B, and C reagents for alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium.
