The Red Knobby Starfish is a large, striking sea star for fish-only or carefully planned non-reef aquariums. It can consume sponges, tube worms, clams, corals, and other sessile invertebrates, so it should not be sold as a cleanup animal for a mixed reef. Provide a mature, stable marine aquarium with open substrate, secure rockwork, and enough room for its adult span. Keep it submerged during transfer when practical and avoid rapid salinity changes.
