About This Video

This overview examines the Dalua Illumagic X4 LED lighting for reef aquarium systems, beginning with an unboxing and firsthand look at the illuminated fixture. The box includes the Illumagic X4, a power cord, a Mean Well power supply, and a warranty card. The aluminum fixture measures 9.6 by 9.6 by 1.49 inches, has a 10-foot power cord, and offers narrow and wide lens options. Its LEDs and lenses are backed by a lifetime warranty.

The video also demonstrates connecting the X4 to the Dalua Ecosystem app and accessing schedule controls. Available presets include Acclimation, Mixed Reef, Refugium, Reef Realism, and Beast Mode, while public schedules and custom schedules provide additional choices. Reef Realism uses data from weather stations around 10 well-known reefs. A WYSIWYG camera feature lets reef keepers switch between their lighting schedule and a camera-suitable setting. What's going on reapfers? Blaine here. In today's video, we are checking out the Dua X4 Illumagic Light. We recently added them into our selection of lights here at TopShelf Aquatics. I've heard about them, I've seen them, but I haven't gotten the chance to get my hands on one myself. So, today we're going to be diving in, checking out the X4, and seeing what they're all about. Let's dive in. [Music] I'll be honest with you all. When it comes to information on the Dua X4 Illumagic light, there isn't a ton outside of the manufacturer. So, in today's video, we're going to be checking out getting a firsthand look, doing some unboxing, and also checking out the light when it's nice and lit up. Before we get into the nitty-gritty and the details about this light, let's see what comes in the box. The Illumagic X4 power cord and Meanwell power supply and the included warranty card. Speaking of warranty, the LEDs and lenses on the X4 are all backed by a lifetime warranty. Even if a single diode is out, Dua will replace it and get your reef shining bright again. The dimensions of the Illumagic X4 are 9.6 in x 9.6 in x 1.49 in with a power cord length of 10 ft. Also, the chassis of this bad boy is aluminum, durable, sleek, and also will help with how hot this unit runs. When talking about the light spread from the unit on Dooa's website, it states the light spread reaches 23 in squared. There are also narrow and wide lenses available as well. Dooa's claim to fame is that the PAR actually should be taking a backseat to spectrum. Duo states, "By using precise spectrums to activate fluorescent proteins in specific corals, the resulting stimulation of these proteins enables the corals to radiate an unparalleled glow and shine. Curious to see how easy it is to remove one of these LEDs? It's as easy as this. The X4 was manufactured to focus on the usable watts available. And with that comes some key advantages. No more burnt lenses. With the lifetime warranty, there is no reason to worry that you can't preserve that PAR number forever. X4s run cooler, providing the unit with maximum light, all while minimizing the amount of energy wasted. The spectrum is also optimized to avoid unusable colors, helping reduce that overall wattage waste significantly. An interesting feature I wanted to point out about the light is the integration of reef realism. The idea in mind is you bring exactly what corals out in nature are experiencing on a day-to-day basis. This specific data is being downloaded and used from weather stations located around 10 of the world's most famous reefs. Now that we brought up the app, we might as well jump into it and show you all how to set this light up on a tank and get a schedule together. All right, reefers. I wanted to take the time too to showcase the app. Getting onto the Dua ecosystem app, getting it all hooked up and getting your X4 connected. So, we're going to hop into the aquarium page I have. We're going to go into the app, Dua Ecosystem. We're going to then create an aquarium. We'll call this our test. We'll save that. We'll just move on from that. We'll click that again. We're going to add a new device. So, we'll click add new device. Doo is just going to discover it. The X4 has just popped up. So, we'll click that. We'll name the device. As you guys can see, it's starting to flash a little bit. We'll do test again. Click next. And then it's starting to think. Finding all the networks in the area. So, now we're going to connect to our top shelf network. Standby as I put in our top secret password. All right, the password's in. So, now you're seeing the configuring of the network. This is going to take a couple moments. And then as we're waiting for that though, I will like to say pretty simple and seamless to get this connected. Really nice that once you kind of got this plugged in, got the app open, the X4 showed up right away. So just like that, we're all connected. And it's going to ask is the device type for freshwater or saltwater, obviously saltwater. And just like that, we're all done. And the light's going to turn on. And just like that, we are now in the app with our X4. We'll say X4, check for an update. All updated. And now we're on the main home screen with our test device. And just like that, we've connected our X4 to the app. Before we wrap up with all the app interface, the DUA ecosystem in general, I wanted to showcase the schedule control. I'm not going to go into a bunch of details. If that's a video you guys do want to see, be sure to drop a comment down below. Maybe it's something we can work on. Also, same with the railing system. If you guys are curious about how the arm got put together, there is a QR code on the side of the box that'll give you the instructions. But if you want to see a video for that, let us know in the comments below. I just wanted to showcase this though real quick. You can go to schedule control. We'll create a schedule. But over here on the top section, there's a couple different ones you can look at. So there's the doo schedules. So it's going to showcase all the different presets that are already there. Acclamation, Mixed Reef, Refugeium, Reef, Realism, Beast Mode. A lot of the things you guys have seen on the internet coming from the Doo schedules. What I think is really cool though is the public schedule. So these are some of the schedules from some of the influencers on social media, things like that. We've got the Polo Reef 900galon. We've got Coralos tank. There's all kinds of different systems. You can actually grab their specific schedule directly incorporated in this app. So definitely shout out to Duo. pretty cool addition into that. And then of course you can create your own schedules and create your own schedule entirely utilizing this app system integrated in that app. Dua went ahead and created a Wizzywig camera, helping you as the Reef Keeper seamlessly swap between your schedule and a camera suitable schedule for any photos or videos you want to take on the fly. Now that we got the chance to set one of these up and get it online, let's talk about some of the options of how you can get these lights onto your systems. The first option is the X4 rear mounting arm, which hooks to the back side of the tank and then gets the light mounted directly to it. There is an option to use an X4 hanging kit, and there is an option to utilize rails and X4 sliders to get them onto one of the RMS setups. So many ways to hang an X4, but truly it's up to the reefer to make that decision for what's best fit for their tank. [Music] Getting the chance to showcase the Dua X4 Illumagic here on the channel was a lot of fun. And I know I'm a little late to the release of course, but due to the fact that we recently added it to our available lighting on our website, I wanted to make this video. If you guys are looking to upgrade your current lighting or snag some new lighting and Doo is on your mind, head over to our website now and check out all the available options. If you've hung out all the way till the end, I want to say thank you very much. Be sure to like, subscribe, and hit the bell notification so you don't miss out on any future uploads. [Music]
