The Sapphire Extreme Bullethole Clownfish is a stunning designer variant of the Ocellaris Clown, showcasing a rich sapphire-blue hue contrasted with bold white patches and distinctive “bullethole” markings within the pattern. Each individual has a unique design, making this morph both highly collectible and visually striking in reef aquariums. Tank Requirements

  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons (larger recommended for a bonded pair)

  • Environment: Rockwork with open swimming space; optional host anemone

  • Flow: Low to moderate

  • Lid: Recommended — clowns may occasionally jump when startled

The Sapphire Extreme Bullethole adapts well to established reef tanks and may naturally host anemones such as Bubble Tip Anemones, though this is not required for long-term health.

Natural Behavior

Like other Ocellaris Clowns, this variety is social, hardy, and active. Generally peaceful, they may show territorial behavior once paired, especially near their chosen host coral, anemone, or “home” area. Their constant activity and unique markings make them a focal point in any aquarium.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivorous and not picky:

  • Frozen mysis and brine shrimp

  • High-quality marine pellets and flakes

  • Enriched frozen blends for coloration and nutrition

  • Occasional copepods or finely chopped seafood for variety

Feed 2–3 times daily to support growth, health, and vibrant coloration.

Tankmates & Compatibility

  • Temperament: Peaceful to semi-aggressive when paired

  • Reef Safe: Yes — completely safe with corals and invertebrates

  • Best With: Gobies, wrasses, anthias, tangs, and other peaceful to moderately active fish

  • Avoid: Mixing with other clownfish species (except bonded pairs) to reduce aggression
