Captive-Bred Yellow Tang
(Zebrasoma flavescens)
The iconic Yellow Tang is a staple in saltwater aquariums, known for its vibrant golden color, streamlined body, and constant grazing behavior. These stunning captive-bred specimens offer all the beauty of wild-caught tangs without the environmental impact or acclimation challenges.
Tank Requirements
Yellow Tangs thrive in aquariums of 75 gallons or larger, where they can swim actively and graze throughout the day. Provide ample live rock for foraging, open swimming space, and stable water conditions to keep them healthy and stress-free. These tangs are generally peaceful but may show territorial behavior toward other tangs or similar-shaped fish.
Sustainably Aquacultured in Captivity
These Yellow Tangs are raised in controlled environments, completely isolated from wild marine fish, ensuring they are pathogen-free and well-adjusted to aquarium life. This makes them hardier and less prone to disease than their wild counterparts.
Healthy, Adaptable Feeders
Arriving at an ideal size of approximately 2" to 3", these tangs are already trained to eat a variety of aquarium foods. They readily accept frozen mysis, high-quality pellet foods, and dried seaweed sheets, making feeding simple and stress-free for aquarists.
