Description
Bumblebee snails are extremely useful reef inhabitants, commonly kept for their highly varied diet. Similar to nassarius and cerith snails, bumblebee snails spend a portion of their time buried beneath the sandbed. Bumblebee snails will scour both the sandbed and rockwork in search of meaty foods, including sand dwelling worms such as spaghetti worms, detritus worms, and bristleworms. Bumblebee snails are also known to sometimes prey upon vermetid snails, a common aquarium pest, making them a very attractive option for aquarists battling vermetid infestations.
***Bumblebee snails are primarily carnivorous and will thrive best in an aquarium with an overabundance of worms, vermitids, and other microfauna.
