Overview
Pinky Umbrella Mushroom Coral has a large, umbrella-like disc with a central mouth and short surface vesicles. Scientific name Amplexidiscus fenestrafer; this is a soft corallimorph (mushroom-type coral) with a fleshy, expandable disc that prefers low to moderate light and gentle to moderate water flow. It hosts symbiotic algae for photosynthesis but will accept small meaty foods, which can speed growth and improve fullness and color. Place on substrate or isolated rock with space around it, as large expansion and a strong feeding response can irritate nearby corals and may trap small fish.
