Saltwater Clams for Sale: Aquacultured Tridacna Clams for Reef Tanks

Our saltwater clams for sale are sourced from established aquaculture facilities that specialize in raising healthy Tridacna clams for aquarium life. We regularly stock sought-after species including Maxima, Crocea, Derasa, and Squamosa clams, all best suited for mature reef tanks with strong lighting and stable water chemistry.

Because these clams are aquacultured rather than wild collected, they are already adapted to aquarium conditions and consistent lighting. Each specimen is inspected prior to shipping for proper mantle extension, responsiveness, and secure attachment.

What to Know Before Adding a Clam to Your Reef Tank

Saltwater clams rely heavily on photosynthesis and require appropriate PAR levels to remain healthy. Maxima and Crocea clams typically demand higher light and are often placed on stable rockwork, while Derasa and Squamosa clams are commonly kept on the sandbed in well-lit systems. Stable calcium, alkalinity, salinity, and pH are essential for shell growth and long-term success.

Tridacna clams are reef safe and compatible with most corals. However, certain fish species, including some angelfish and butterflyfish, may nip at their mantles. A stable, established reef system is strongly recommended before adding a clam.
