The HYDROS WiFi Smart Plug gives aquarium hobbyists a low-cost entry point into intelligent outlet control and power monitoring. Operating within the CoralVue HYDROS platform, the plug connects to your home network over 2.4 GHz WiFi and is managed entirely through the HYDROS mobile app. Its single AC outlet can be switched on or off remotely, placed on a schedule, or triggered by rules you define — covering equipment like return pumps, heaters, UV sterilizers, protein skimmers, and lights.

What separates the Smart Plug from a basic smart outlet is its ability to measure the current and wattage being drawn by whatever is plugged into it. If that draw rises or falls outside the range you expect, the app sends an alert to your mobile device. This is a practical safeguard: a pump consuming less power than usual may be impeller-fouled and due for cleaning; a sudden drop to zero could mean the outlet lost power or the device failed. Catching these changes early gives you time to respond before tank conditions deteriorate.

You can run multiple Smart Plugs simultaneously under a single HYDROS app account, each assigned to a different piece of equipment or location. The plug includes an LED status indicator so you can confirm outlet state at a glance without opening the app. If a plug loses its WiFi connection entirely, you receive an immediate notification — an important failsafe for critical equipment like return pumps or chillers.

The Smart Plug is rated for AC 120V at 10A continuous, making it suitable for most single-device aquarium loads. It draws 2A of USB power for its own operation. Setup requires an existing 2.4 GHz WiFi network; it does not require a HYDROS controller hub, though it integrates fully with one if you have it. The unit carries a one-year limited warranty from CoralVue.
