Introduction to Rabbitfish Care Rabbitfish belong to the genus Siganus, a group of herbivorous saltwater fish from the Indo-Pacific region known for...
Collonista are micrograzers that primarily eat biofilm, diatoms, and light algae on rock, frag plugs, and glass. In well-established tanks they often need no direct feeding. In newer or very “clean” systems, supplement 1–3 times weekly by placing a small piece of dried nori, a tiny pinch of finely crushed algae wafer, or a smear of herbivore gel on a rock near their usual hiding areas shortly after lights out. Remove uneaten food within 6–12 hours to avoid nutrient spikes. Avoid overfeeding; their population can increase when food is abundant. Copper-based medications and many “algae killer” products can be lethal—use safer nutrient management and manual removal instead.
