Using a refugium-specific LED light (usually in the 6500K–10,000K range) will promote healthy growth. Running the light on a reverse schedule from your main tank lighting can also help stabilize nighttime pH.

Can I add macroalgae directly to my display tank?
Yes—especially ornamental varieties like Dragon’s Breath, Red Ogo, and Blue Hypnea. These can add movement and color to your aquascape. Just be sure to anchor them properly and prune as needed. Chaeto is best kept in the refugium due to its dense structure and rapid growth.
