The in-sump protein skimmer from the OCTO series Regal space saving skimmer (Regal-S) has a modest footprint and is perfect for aquariums with little sump room. Additionally, Regal-S has a precision control gate valve, easy disassembly for maintenance, a high-quality cast acrylic body construction, and a hybrid conical body that aids in naturally stabilizing and concentrating the organic rich foam as it rises. Additionally, Regal-S is powered by our own controllable VarioS skimmer pump, which has a pinwheel impeller, a detachable controller, a high-quality ceramic shaft and bearing to minimize wear and tear, and the most recent variable speed flow technology for refined control, improved performance, energy-efficiency, and safer operations. Our VarioS pump has several significant advantages over traditional AC pumps, including higher energy efficiency, safer operations at a working voltage of 24V, and most significantly, the variable speed control to adjust the ideal mix of air and water flow into the skimmer. This is in contrast to the vast majority of circulation pumps, which use alternating current (AC). Improved Control Users of the VarioS controller can choose from five predetermined speed settings, which are denoted by five illuminated LEDs, to adjust the flow rates. By pressing a button, a 15 or 60 minute feed mode can also be activated or deactivated. In addition, a moveable volute enables customers to change the output orientation according to their demands, whether it be horizontally or vertically (up or down).
